Three dead as vehicle falls into gorge

SHILLONG: Three people were killed on the spot and two others injured when the Mahindra Scorpio they were travelling in fell into a gorge while trying to avoid collision with another vehicle coming from the opposite direction.
The incident occurred at at Ryndangbriew in East Khasi Hills at around 7 pm on Friday.
The driver of the vehicle, Phyrnai Rynjah (40) and two occupants Simal Sinha (39) and Gautam Basumatary (28) died on the spot. The injured Ryngku Das (32) and Kajal Paul (34) were shifted to Civil Hospital, Shillong.
