JOWAI: Jaintia Hills Police arrested two persons for allegedly committing a murder in Karbi Anglong district of Assam.
Both the accused, Phira Sten (24) and Wanmi Sten (23), are residents of Mukroh village.
The duo was arrested following a request from Assam Police which had registered a case under section 302/392 IPC against the accused.
The accused have been remanded in judicial custody in West Jaintia Hills.
Meanwhile, another person identified as Phaiti Salahe (22) was arrested by the Khliehriat Police for murdering one Hansoni Dkhar of Moobakhon village in West Jaintia Hills. The accused had allegedly concealed the victim’s body inside a forest near Jalaphet village. “He confessed that he killed the person for having illicit affair with his wife,” police sources informed. The arrested person was remanded in two day judicial custody.
