SHILLONG:  West Shillong legislator Paul Lyngdoh and his security men have been accused of assaulting two persons who were uploading cement at Lower Mawprem on the night of October 22.
Earlier, Lyngdoh had lodged an FIR with the Lumdiengjri police station stating that his security personnel were threatened by a truck driver at Lower Mawprem, Lumkshaid.
However, a counter FIR filed with the same police station on Friday said that one Espin Jana and his brother Kephas Jana were allegedly assaulted by Lyngdoh and his security men.
The FIR was lodged by one Anjela Jana, the sister of the victims.
The counter FIR filed by Anjela said that on October 22 at around 2 am while her brothers Espin and Kephas were uploading cement bags in one shop in Lower Mawprem adjacent to the residence of the legislator, he along with his security guards forcefully pulled her brothers to his residence and assaulted them besides accusing them of creating nuisance due to the sound of vehicle the whole night.
Later, Lyngdoh called up Lumdiengjri police station and the police apprehended them and kept the duo in their custody and then released them at 6 am, the FIR said.
When contacted, Lyngdoh reiterated that the people were creating nuisance by dumping cement in the neighbourhood at 2 am in the morning
“Again at 4 am, two people came and told my security that they wanted to meet me and surprisingly they were not the owners of the truck,” he said.
