SHILLONG: On October 31 at about 10.15 am, one Tata Sumo vehicle (ML-05K-8899) driven by Abzal Bharbhuiya (24), knocked down one minor boy Wanlamshaphrang Mawiong (3 yrs) at Siatbakon village under Pynursla PS (EKH). Victim sustained injuries and was removed to Woodland Hospital, Shillong, where he succumbed to his injuries.

An infant narrowly escaped on Friday when a speeding police Gypsy driven by a senior woman police official slammed into a two-wheeler coming from the opposite direction in front of the Christian Girls HS School in Tura, Our Tura Correspondent reported.
The infant and the rider escaped unhurt while the rash driving by the senior police official resulted in injury to the mother who was pillion riding with her baby.
