SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has adopted a cautious approach on the charge-sheet filed by East Garo Hills police against Social Welfare minister Deborah Marak.

Speaking to media persons after meeting Chief Minister Mukul Sangma here on Tuesday, the MPCC president DD Lapang said that it was too early to say anything on the matter.

Lapang said that he discussed the matter with Marak over phone.

“The latest development will be intimated to the All India Congress Committee (AICC),” he said.

When asked if Marak is at the receiving end for revolting against the Chief Minister, Lapang said “Congress is a big family and differences may be there. But there is no such trend of taking revenge in the party.”

“We solve our problems within our four walls,” he added.
