Dorbar bans animal killing

Jowai: The Dorbar Shnong of Tuber Kmai Shnong, East Jaintia Hills District, in a meeting held recently, imposed a restriction on hunting and killing of both animals and fishes.

In a press release issued on Monday, the Dorbar Shnong prohibited people from catching fishes by using nets, medicines and explosives and also imposed a ban on hunting of animals.

The Dorbar also warned that violators would be punished according to the law of the Dorbar Shnong.
