National Legal Services Day observed in Ri Bhoi

NONGPOH: The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi and the District & Sessions Judge, Nongpoh in collaboration with the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority observed the National Legal Service Day at Science Hall here on Sunday.

District & Sessions Judge, MD Challam, Superintendent of Police, Ri Bhoi, CVS Reddy, Senior Advocate, CM Adhikari and Public Prosecutor L Wahlang attended the event as resource persons.

On the occasion an awareness programme was held on the aim and motive of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) in constituting the National Legal Service Act, 1987 to monitor and evaluate implementation of legal aid programmes.
