SHILLONG: The 63rd Plenary session of the North Eastern Council (NEC) and the first under the Narendra Modi government at the Centre will be held in New Delhi on November 19.

Governors and Chief Ministers of all eight states in the North East region would attend the session to discuss important development activities taken up by different Central ministries and government organisations, official sources said on Wednesday. The Annual Plan and the Gross Budgetary Support of the Council will also be discussed.

Meanwhile, the Federation of Industry and Commerce of North Eastern Region (FINER) has welcomed the stand of Centre to bring DoNER Ministry directly under the supervision of Prime Minster’s office (PMO).

“The move to shift the DoNER ministry directly under the PMO is a welcome step and we are confident that focused approach of our Prime Minister will pave the way for inclusive development of the entire North East resulting in all states of the region to be at par with advanced states of the Country.
