Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh CM Nabam Tuki on Saturday said the National Institute of Technology (NIT) would soon have the scope for introducing many contem-porary and relevant programmes.
Addressing the first convocation of NIT, esta-blished in 2010 at its temporary site at Yupia, the Chief Minister said the institute had introduced four programmes- mecha-nical engineering, civil engineering, bio-technolo-gy and entrepreneurship.
‘I have no doubt that once the Institute shifts to its permanent site at Jote village on the outskirts of Itanagar, the Institute will have the scope for intro-ducing many more contem-porary and relevant progra-mmes in the future’, he said.
The CM observed that the state was gradually becoming a higher educa-tional hub and addition of NIT Arunachal Pradesh – an Institute of National Impor-tance – to the existing Central Universities namely Rajiv Gandhi University and North-Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) would help the state’s growth.(UNI)
