Workshop on nutrition held

SHILLONG: The MSW third semester students of St. Edmund’s College placed at Dewlieh and Diengsong village, East Khasi Hills in collaboration with Tynrai Foundation organized a one-day workshop on nutrition on the Saturday.

Participants include 5 neighbouring villages namely Dewlieh , Diengsong ,Wahsohra , Tyniar and Nongtraw. Around 13 participants (school teachers, ASHA and Aganwadi worker & farmers) were also present for the workshop.

Mellior.M.Riang, RBSK Staff Nurse Shella Bhologanj Block stressed about the importance of nutrition. On his speech, he stated that nutrients are beneficial for our normal growth and development, “Food is the most important thing in our life so we should know what to eat and when to eat because from food we can get nutrients in various forms”.

Three school teachers from Dewlieh, Diengsong & Wahsohra also shared their experience on the concept of school garden.
