SCA beat SW Khasi Hills

SHILLONG: Inter District Under -19 category Cricket Tournament organized by Meghalaya Cricket Association, defending champion Shillong Cricket Association registered an easy win. South West Khasi Hills winning the toss and electing to bat first were bundled out for 84 runs all out in 34 overs with Divenshon Lyngdoh top scoring with a patient innings of 34 runs (62balls). Mukesh Rai and Supriyo Chanda claimed 2 wickets each for SCA. In reply SCA scored 88 runs losing a solitary wicket in the process, with Manish Rai scoring 57 runs off 45 balls and Syed Salman notching up 22 runs off 33 balls. SCA won by 9 wickets. On Wednesday All Jaintia will face against East Jaintia.
Tendulkar may take part in ‘Run Kerala Run’
Thiruvananthapuram: Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, brand ambassador of the 35th National Games to be held in Kerala in January-February next, is expected to participate in the group run titled ‘Run Kerala Run’ organised as part of the Games. “Run Kerala Run” is to be held in 7,000 centres across the state and date of the event would be finalised after getting confirmation from Tendulkar, State Minister for Sports Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan told reporters here on Tuesday. The state has proposed to Tendulkar January 20, 21 and 22 as the dates for the event. Prime Minister Narendra Modi would inagurate the National Games on January 31 and President Pranab Mukherjee would attend the closing ceremony on February 14. (PTI)
ICC Cricket World Cup Trophy Tour launched in Mumbai

New-look Cooperage Football Stadium to open today
Mumbai: A refurbished Cooperage Football Stadium, which had been under renovation for nearly three years, will be opened today.Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa will inaugurate the new-look stadium in South Mumbai.The sport complex had been closed for renovation since 2011. In addition, corporate leaders, owners and partners of ISL football franchises and AIFF officials will also attend the inauguration ceremony. (PTI)
