Students to take out rally for clean Shillong

SHILLONG: Students will take out a procession to Lady Hydari park to create awareness on cleanliness.

In order to mobilize people for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, which was launched by Prime Minister on October 2 and to achieve Prime Minister’s vision of Clean India by October 2, 2019, Army Pubic School has decided to organize a mass awareness drive on December 11 in collaboration with ICARE. .

The school has planned to take out a procession in which around 150 students, teachers and members of ICARE would participate. The participants would carry banners, and placards, in order to create awareness among the people about the importance and benefits of living in hygienic surroundings and how to keep the surroundings neat and clean.

The proposed procession will start from Rhino Auditorium (Near Zonal Recruiting Office) at 10:40 am and will end at Lady Hydari Park (via Civil Hospital, State Central Library and Barik Point) at around 11 am.

A programme has been arranged at Lady Hydari Park on the occasion. The theme is ‘Clean Picnic Green Picnic’. Sanjay Goyal, Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills District, will join the programme.
