TURA: With the government failing to respond to its earlier statement made in the media, the A’chik Matgrik Elite Force (AMEF) has re-iterated its demands setting a deadline of ten days for the fulfilment of each one.

In a statement issued here on Friday, Chang Matgrik, the Commander-in-Chief of the outfit resumed its earlier demand for the regularization of all Adhoc teachers and warned of action against Education officials and ministers if it was not done within 10 days It also demanded the up-gradation of all timber bridges in Garo Hills into RCC, the tenders for which should be floated within a week.

The outfit threatened to set fire to all timber bridges in Garo Hills if action with regard to its demand was not seen within 10 days of its statement.

The AMEF also demanded the regularization of all muster roll workers in Garo Hills based on seniority within 10 days and warned of action against high ranking officials if the demand is not met.

Further, pointing out that there was need for much improvement in many areas like Rural Electrification for BPL families and PMGSY Scheme projects the outfit warned that it would not remain a mute spectator if any Contractor or Officer was found to be negligent of his duties.

It may be reminded that the outfit had made the same demands a number of times earlier with the latest being made on November 8. However, the government remained unmoved choosing not to respond most probably due to the complex nature of the demand.
