Unemployed youth should tap local potentials: Ampareen

SHILLONG: Minister of Labour, Ampareen Lyngdoh, on Wednesday lamented the existence of unemployment amongst the educated youth of Meghalaya and the entire country as well.
Addressing the inaugural function of the two-day regional workshop on Youth and Entrepreneurship organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC), Shillong College, in collaboration with The Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Ministry of Skill Development, at Shillong College on Wednesday, Lyngdoh lauded the EDC for taking the initiative of conducting the three-month course.
She pointed out to various entrepreneurial potential ventures in Meghalaya like tourism, cultivation of organic products etc., and urged the youth to change their mindset, organize themselves and tap these local potentials.
Around 150 participants drawn from various parts of the North Eastern Region are participating in the workshop.
