TURA: A cleaning drive was organized by the Tura College of Information Technology on Friday morning, the Death Anniversary of Pa Togan Nengminja as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

The drive began in the college campus itself and continued on to nearby streets and public areas falling under Araimile locality.

During the drive faculty members, staff, existing students and alumni of the college actively participated. The college intends to carry out such activities in future and urged everyone to take up cleanliness drives in their respective localities so as to come that much closer to attaining a clean India. The college also donated a dustbin for public use in the area.

Meanwhile, the Proper Chitoktak Development Committee (PCDC) also organized a programme of the same kind in the locality on the same day.

During its cleaning drive all streets in the locality were swept while the Chitoktak Cemetery which was overgrown with thick undergrowth was also cleared.

Several organizations from the locality including the Chitoktak Gopram Committee, Chitoktak Neighbourhood Committee and the Chitoktak Youth Club participated during the drive.
