Tyi’sam Fest from December 17

 BAGHMARA: As in previous years, the three day cultural bonanza the Tyisam Fest’2014 will take place at Baghmara Golden Beach from December 17- 18 encapsulating a variety of entertainment and cultural shows.

The festival will be jointly organised by the District Administration, South Garo Hills with the department of Art & Culture etc.

The three day event will feature singing sensations from various rock bands from Sikkim, Guwahati, Tura and even from Baghmara.

Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Dr Mukul M Sangma is likely to grace the inaugural function and thereafter, traditional beats where more than hundred drums will be performed by various troupes.

Other traditional events such as Wangala, Koch and Ruga dances, air rifle/pistol and archery demo, exibition of handicrafts, beach volleyball and soccer, fancy dress, poetry and dance competition etc will also be part of the event.

The second day’s event will include air pistol shooting competition, archery competition, water sports like boat race, diving and swimming competition.

In the concluding day of the festival events like indigenous games, cooking competition, sprint on sand, singing competition, rock show and fireworks display will be the main highlight.
