SHILLONG: Following complaints that certain LPG distributors in the city have not reverted back to home delivery of LPG cylinders, the East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner has sounded a warning to all such distributors.

Speaking to media persons, East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Goyal said that all LPG Gas agencies must immediately revert back to home deliveries of LPG cylinders.

Stating that the violation of the order can be brought to his notice, Goyal assured strictest action against any such LPG distributors who are still distributing LPG cylinders through point delivery.

As per the order of the Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills all distributors must ensure home delivery of cylinders from June 1

According to Goyal, the price for Home Delivery is enhanced from Rs. 17.00 per LPG cylinder to Rs. 25.00 per LPG cylinder and therefore, total price inclusive of Home Delivery for Ex-storage/ Godown Price is Rs. 446.00.

It may be mentioned that the DC (Supply) has also launched a portability scheme for cooking gas customers across the country from January 22 and this would be available for customers with any of the distributors like Indane, HP Gas or Bharat Gas.

With this, an LPG consumer in these markets can now switch to the distributor of their choice within a cluster of LPG distribution in the vicinity under the LPG connection portability scheme.
