Office bearers

The Seng Samla Umshing Mawkynroh has elected new office bearers for the term 2013-2015 recently with Samuel Nongkhlaw as the president, Khraw Warjri as the vice president, Albert Nongspung as the secretary, Laster Warjri as the assistant secretary and Saindur J Chyne as the treasurer besides other executive members.

Tour

The Tourism Department is organising a familiarization tour for international and domestic tour operators who will be visiting the state from November 4 to 10. In this regard, a B to B meet with the operators will be held on November 5 at Pinewood Hotel from 4pm onwards.

Talk

The Women’s Cell, Shillong college will be organising a popular talk on Human Trafficking on November 1 in the conference hall of the college at 11am.

Celebration

The Kuki Community in Meghalaya under the banner of Kuki Inpi Meghalaya is organising Chavang Kut (a post harvest festival) on November 2 at NEHU Convocation Hall, Shillong. The reverend Fr Peter Tongmang Haokin, Oriens Theological College, Mawlai will grace the occasion as ‘Kut Pa’.

Forever Young will organise the 11th Shillong Wine Festival, 2013 at Crinoline Swimming Pool on November 9 from 12 noon onwards.

Competition

Sri Sri Yogomaya Ashram Laban will organise a sit and draw competition at the Ashram premises on November 2 on the occasion of Kali puja. The competition comprises of four different categories from Nursery to Class VII.

Consultation

The public consultation process to elicit views, comments and suggestions from all sections of the society on the Meghalaya Regulation of Landlords and verification of tenants Bill 2013 will be launched on November 1 at 10.15 am at the Yojana Bhawan .
