NONGPOH: The health sub-centre at Umsawnongbri has been upgraded to a primary health centre.
DD Lapang, who was accompanied by Health Minister Roshan Warjri, led the foundation stone for the upgraded centre at Madan Raid Nongbri here on Friday.
The new centre will be constructed on 8 acres donated by the Raid Nongbri at a cost of Rs. 8.34 crore, State Director of Health Services RO Budnah said. It will cater to 21 villages with a population of 13,000.
“Under NRHM, the department has been able to improve healthcare in rural areas by strengthening and improving the existing health centre for the benefit of the people,”
Warjri said construction of the building will start soon and asked the district health officials to monitor work.
