Mawphor vehicles attacked

SHILONG: Miscreants pelted stones at the office vehicles of local daily Mawphor at 1.30 pm on Friday at a time when protestors clashed with the police at Mavis Dunn Road, Mawkhar, Shillong.
The occupants of one vehicle – two reporters, one DTP employee and the driver, who were on their way to work, escaped without injuries.
 In a press statement issued here, Mawphor condemned the incident where the press was prevented from discharging its duties.
The Meghalaya Editors & Publishers Association has condemned the incident and urged the police and public to allow the press to go about their duties without hindrance.
Another vehicle parked near the office of the Syiem of Mylliem was also damaged.
