Body retrieved from Umiam river

NONGPOHRi Bhoi Police on Thursday retrieved one body floating at Umiam river. The body was later identified as that of one Teilang Khongphai (54) from Riatsamthiah, East Khasi Hills District.

According to official source, police were informed in the morning about the body that was found floating at Umiam river. Police personnel of Umiam PS rush to the spot and fished out body.

The body was sent to Nongpoh Civil Hospital for post mortem. Investigation is on to find out the cause of death of the person.
