Shillong tour operators yet to get Ministry’s accreditation

SHILLONG: The beauty of Shillong is that the hill capital city attracts lakhs of tourists from far and wide. Surprisingly, the tour operators from the state so far have not approached the   Tourism Ministry for certificate of accreditation which would boost their business.

This was revealed in a meeting  chaired by the Regional Director (North East)  Ministry of Tourism, Sankha Subhra Devbarman here in the city on Saturday.

He lamented that tour operator from Meghalaya are not coming forward to the Ministry for certificate of accreditation while stressing on the need to brand Meghalaya and its picturesque locations through the Ministry
