SHILLONG: The president of the Poor People’s Movement (PPM) Louis Dohtdong, who was allegedly involved in the murder of KSU Mawlai circle general secretary Rijied Kurkalang, surrendered before the police here on Thursday.
Dohtdong, who was absconding since March 20, was alleged to have been involved along with his brother Comius Dohtdong and Khrawkupar Wanniang in the murder of Kurkalang at Anjalee Parking lot. Police managed to arrest Comius and Khrawkupar immediately after the murder, but Louis had managed to escape. A senior police official said that Louis surrendered at the Cantonment Beat House on Thursday and he would be produced before the court on Friday. It may be mentioned that Louis had got an anticipatory bail from the district council court which was later nullified by the court.
