 SHILLONG:An online media portal called the North East Monologues, which aims at providing a platform to writers both professional and unprofessional to air their views on various various topics was formally launched in the city on Friday.

Elaborating on the launched website, North East Monologues co-founder, Babatdor Dkhar said this will provide a platform to the aspiring writers to express themselves through their writings. “We want to achieve a standard as far as write ups is concerned”, said Dkhar. Meanwhile, speaking as the chief guest, noted Columnist and Editor of The Shillong Times, Patricia Mukhim said social networking sites have become a medium to elicit political opinions.

“This is another social media which has made an impact on world politics”, she said while adding it can provide a stable platform for people who love writing as in the end of the day it’s all about delivering and receiving informations.

It was further mentioned that in relation to the newly launched website, a writing competition will be organised inviting people from all groups to share their thoughts on four main topics.
