Dhaka: Bangladesh on Wednesday launched the trial of “core culprits” of the 2009 BDR rebellion where 74 people including 57 army officers of the paramilitary border force were killed.
Metropolitan Session Judge Zahoorul Haque ordered the trial process to start and framed charges against 850 suspects in the February 25-26 mutiny at the Pilkhana headquarters of Bangladesh rifles (BDR) which is now renamed Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).
“You want justice, this court will ensure 100 per cent justice,” the judge said. (PTI)
