Indian Cricket Dundee to be launched on Aug 15 at Lord’s
London: Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Co might be struggling in England but there is no lack of enthuisiam among their fans as the Indian Cricket Dundee (ICD), a platform for Indians, is set to be officially launched at the Lords Cricket Club on August 15. Following in the footsteps of the Barmy Army, a semi-organised group of English cricket fans, some like-minded individuals of India have come together to share a common passion and their love for Cricket. Founded by Charan Shetty, Indian Cricket Dundee is an association formed in September 2010 and dedicated to the service of cricket fans. (PTI)
Hovhannisyan wrests sole lead
Chennai:Armenian Grandmaster Robert Hovhannisyan brought down Girish Koushik in the ninth round, and moved into sole lead in the SDAT-RAMCO 50th World Junior and 29th Junior Girls Chess Championships here on Thursday. The win took Hovhannisyan to 8.0 points followed by fellow Armenian Grandmaster Ter-Sahakyan Samvel at 7.5 points. FIDE Master Girish A Koushik (India) and GM Swiercz Dariusz (Poland) shared the third spot with 7.0 points each. (UNI)
