Apropos the newsitem ‘Adhoc college teachers cease work’ (ST, Aug 19), the Meghalaya College Teachers’ Association (MCTA) has clarified that there are 22 colleges and around 500 teachers under it. The MCTA has also maintained that the agitations were called by college teachers and not the adhoc teachers and the MCTA delegations were invited for talks on Thursday but the association decided to meet the Director of Higher and Technical Education on Monday next.
