Rs 4 lakh for Tura relief

TURA: The West Garo Hills district administration has undertaken a damage assessment of the loss of property in Tura town during this week’s devastating floods and found as many as 56 families eligible for sanction of relief under the norms of relief assistance. An amount of Rs 4.47 lakh has already been sanctioned and cheques would be issued to the respective family heads on Saturday. Meanwhile, the situation has improved in both the sub-divisions of Ampati and Dadenggre with water levels receding and normalcy being restored.
