Resign
The Ex MDC Umroi Constituency and Ex General Secretary Umroi Block Congress Committee, FM Mawphniang has informed that he has resigned from the Indian National Congress due to personal reasons.
Conference
The Union Christian Writers’ Association will organise its first conference at Institute of Hotel Management near Orchid Hotel, Polo at 11.30am on Saturday. Moderator of the Church of North India, Most Rev Dr Purely Lyngdoh will be present as the Chief Guest on the occasion. Awards will also be presented to some of the eminent writers of the state including Rev Dr J Charles Devadas, Vijay Kumar, Pondar Singh Thongni, Salil Gewali, Minimon Laloo and Rev Dr D Luozilie Sanchu.
Golden jubilee
The Sankardev College, Shillong will celebrate its Golden Jubilee on the college’s premises at 11am on Friday. Meghalaya Chief Minister, Dr Mukul Sangma will be present on the occasion as the Chief Guest.
