 SHILLONG: Women’s College Shillong organised the Mrs FI Hussain Memorial Inter-College Debate Competition, 2011 with the theme ‘Women Empowerment is a Farce in the Present Cultural Context’ at the college auditorium here on Saturday. The competition saw the participation of 16 participants from eight institutions across the city. The best speaker was awarded to Laslend Rymbai of St. Edmund’s Higher Secondary School and the best team was awarded to St. Edmund’s Higher Secondary School while St Edmunds College bagged the runner’s up trophy.

Meanwhile, prizes were also given away to the winners of the Inter – College Short Story and Poetry Writing competition organized by the college recently.
