Award

A presentation of Dr Ambedkar Merit Award will be held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District at 3.30pm on September 9.

The Meghalaya Pensioners’ Association Shillong will organise a seminar on Social Evils and tree planting at Pomlum Higher Secondary School Upper Shillong at 11am on September 10 where Governor, RS Mooshahary will be the chief guest.

 Felicitation

A felicitation programme was held at 1st MLP Battalion, Mawiong on Tuesday for MLP Football Team which emerged champions defeating the Oil India Ltd-Duliajan, Assam by a solitary goal in the match organised by the Amguri Sports Association-Amguri, Assam on September 3.

 B’day celebration

The Shillong Assamese ladies Welfare Club will celebrate the birthday of Dada Saheb Phalke award winner Bhupen Hazarika on September 8 at Assam club at 5.30 pm. Mawprem MLA Manas Chaudhuri will be the chief guest on the occasion.

KSU Upper Shillong Circle (USC) will be giving away the Maitshaphrang Award 2011 at the a function to be held at Sunny Side Youth Centre, Saw Mer on September 10 at 11 am. KSU USC general secretary Shepherd Kharsohnoh has requested the students receiving the awards to be present on the venue on the day of the function.
