NES, ANSU condemn firing incident

Itanagar: The Nyishi Elite Socieity and All Nyishi Students’ Union strongly condemned the firing incident in which a person was killed here on Tuesday last.

A joint release issued by the NES and ANSU here today has demanded a thorough inquiry into the incident so that justice is delivered at the earliest and that the confidence of the public on the institution of police could be restored.

The deceased killed in firing incident was identified as Heri Tai (23) of Joru village under Palin circles of Kurung Kumey district, the release said. The deceased was an anti rally supporter of ‘Great Nyishi Referendum Rally’ organised by the Nyishi Consultative Committee and sponsored by the government of AP on October 11 last, the communique said.
