20 years of establishment

St George Secondary School, Nongmynsong will celebrate its 20th years of establishment in its premises at around 4pm on Friday.

 Closing Ceremony

The Meghalaya Veterinary Services Association in collaboration with the AH and Veterinary Department, Meghalaya will conduct the closing ceremony of the World Veterinary Year 2011 at Dinam Hall from 9am on Friday. Chief Secretary, WMS Pariat will be the chief guest.

 Procession

The annual Marian procession of the Visitation Church, Mawprem Parish will be held on October 23. The programme will begin with the holy mass which will be followed by procession from the church premises.

Parade

The police commemoration day parade will be held at Police Reserve on October 21 in remembrance of police personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty during the year 2010-2011.

 Dry Day

On account of Diwali, the deputy Commissioner East Khasi Hills district informed that October 26 will be a dry day throughout the entire district. All IMFL shops, bars, hotels, and bonded warehouse shall remain closed on this day.

Bulbul Utsav

A grand event, Bulbul Utsav organised by the State Association, Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides for small children of the North East will be held at the state headquarter, Pinemount Ridge at 5.30pm on Friday. Meghalaya Legislative Assembly deputy speaker will be the chief guest.

Holiday

In view of the ensuing Wangala celebrations in the month of November, the Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills has declared local holiday on November 10 in the district.
