SHILLONG: After his alleged involvement allotting land to a prominent businessmen of city JN Bawri at Dhankheti, Malki Rangbah Shnong HP Oflyn Dohling finds himself amidst a fresh controversy.

This time he has been accused of committing irregularities of the fund of the Dorbar Shnong.

Leveling this charge against Dohling, the Joint Action Committee (JAC), comprising FKJGP (FKJGP) Malki circle, KSU, Malki unit and the Seng Samla Malki and the Greater Malki People’s Organisation (GMPO), alleged Dohling who, held the office of the Rangbah Shnong of Malki from 1990 to 2008, never made the account on the expenditures of the Dorbar public.

While speaking to reporters here on Monday, the JAC member and GMPO general secretary A Kharbuli said “We are shocked to learn that the former Rangbah Shnong failed to give any accounts on the activities and expenditures of the Dorbar despite heading it for such a long period.”

He informed that they have asked the former Dorbar Shnong to submit the report of the activities of the Dorbar before November 7 adding that they would not allow Dohling to contest the election for the post of Rangbah Shnong in future.

The JAC also alleged that the former Rangbah Shnong never consulted the members of the Dorbar Shnong executive committee before giving No Objection Certificates (NOC) for running a hotel at Nongmalki.

“But he (Dohling) was forced to subsequently withdraw it after strong opposition from the members of the locality,” the JAC said.

It may be recalled that the Malki Dorbar Shnong was dissolved following pressure from a section of the youth of the locality, who demanded constitution of new executive body of the Dorbar.
