 SHILLONG: Members of KSU’s Mawlai Circle on Tuesday afternoon apprehended 32 migrants from Nepal from a bus at Mawlai while they were on their way to Sohkynphor, Jaintia Hills, from Guwahati.

The apprehended persons failed to produce any document to proof their identity.

They were later handed over to Mawlai police.

Police, meanwhile, allowed them to go back to Nepal.

A senior police official, meanwhile, said, “police cannot apprehend them (32 migrants from Nepal) as they can come to India anytime they want according to the Indo-Nepal Treaty.
