17 hurt in bus mishap nearTura

 TURA: Seventeen passengers on a Phulbari bound public bus sustained injuries when the speeding vehicle overturned on the outskirts of Tura on Saturday afternoon.

The mini bus, ML-08A-4294, left Tura for Phulbari when it overturned at Wakagre village, near Praharinagar, at around 12:30 in the afternoon. The driver of the bus fled after the mishap.

Locals helped to get out seventeen injured passengers from inside bus and rushed them to Tura for medical treatment. The 108 emergency service ambulance also played a role in getting some of the injured to the hospital.

Out of the 17 injured passengers, four have been hospitalized with head injuries. The seriously injured have been identified as Cecilia Sangma (21) of Dorambok village, Abdul Kodish (19) of Moinakusi village in Dhubri district, Pujoli Sangma (50) of Goramara village, and Mokelsur Rahman (20) of Phulbari. They are presently under treatment in Tura Civil Hospital.
