SHILLONG: Shillong Cricket Association (SCA) beat East Khasi Hills District Cricket Association by 82 runs to top the league table for Shillong zone in the U-19 Inter District Cricket Tournament here on Monday. The SCA now have won all their three league matches and would play West Garo Hills Cricket Association, who are the leaders of the Tura zone, in the final on Wednesday. Winning the toss the team from Shillong elected to bat first. The batsmen maintained their good form to pile up 230 runs for the loss of ten wickets in 45.4 overs. Shellingster Lyngdoh (69) and Sylvestar Mylliempdah (56) continued their good form with the bat. Sanvert Kurkalang of East Khasi Hills made a brilliant display with the bowl claiming four wickets while conceding 22 runs. In reply East Khasi Hills displayed grit but were eventually bowled out for 148 in 42.5 overs. Sanvert Kurkalang who put up an impressive show both with the bat and bowl all through the tournament, scored a patient 30 runs of 58 balls. Peter Anglican claimed three wickets for SCA.
