SHILLONG: In a rare incident Community and Rural Development Minister Saleng Sangma was fined by a traffic personnel for parking his vehicle in a ‘No Parking Zone’ opposite OB Shopping Mall at Khyndai Lad on Thursday.

The Community and Rural Development Minister, who had parked his brand new vehicle (White Scorpio ML05 TC 004) at the ‘No Parking Zone’, was asked to pay a fine of Rs 1000.

The on duty traffic personnel had brought a recovery van to tow away the vehicle but could not do so since they could not find a proper spot to hook the vehicle, following which the traffic cop fined the lawmaker.

Sangma paid the fine and collected the receipt and then left the scene quickly.
