SHILLONG: Innovation in thinking and practice need not necessarily be only in terms of technological advancement, management or strategic practices, but innovation in sustaining human relationship towards ensuring increased output is also equally important.
This was witnessed on Thursday at IIM Shillong wherein small gift tokens were presented to all outsourced housekeeping, gardening, guest house and security staff by Principal Accountant General (Audit) Andrew Langstieh, in the presence of Prof AK Dutta Director IIM Shillong and other officers of the Institute.
In hisaddress, Langstieh lauded the efforts of the Institute in making a difference to the lives of people who normally are a forgotten lot especially in government offices. “In all my years of service today is the most pleasant one, to be able to share such an experience. It is this kind of a humane effort through able leadership, I am sure, that has ensured IIM Shillong to be where it is today. The harmonious and caring relationship amply visible and is perhaps the reason why everyone at IIM Shillong seem to really work with a smile” he said.
Prof AK Dutta while speaking recollected how from the very initial phase itself the outsourced staff provided uncomplaining service in spite of the immense work that they had to shoulder at the time, and have continued to do so, thereby lifting the image of the institute. A Christmas cake was jointly cut by Mr. Langstieh and Prof Dutta during the occasion.
BSNL celebrates pre-Chritsmas: Pre-Christmas Service Cum Celebration was organized by the employees of BSNL office in the office campus of the CGMT, NE-I Circle on Wednesday where the renowned Kerygma Group besides other participants from BSNL made beautiful carols presentation. The Christmas message was delivered by Mr. T. Tiewsoh (Evangelist).
To mark the celebration BSNL has extended financial support of Rs. 1,20,000/- to William Lewis Boys Home, Mawphlang towards arrangement of community feeding to the poors under BPL to uphold the social responsibility. Further, the employees of BSNL has contributed a sum of Rs. 40,770/- to Dwar Jingkyrmen as a gesture for their good service towards the mentally challenged children.
FKJGP distributes blankets: As part of the Christmas celebration, the FKJGP Central Body and FKJGP Mawlai Circle and Mawtawar Unit on Thursday distributed blankets to 40 households who are financially weak.
On the occasion, FKJGP president Joe Marwein urged the people to work hardwhile admitting that there are plenty of jobs in the state but people are not opting for those as they are mere small jobs.
Clothes distribution programme: The Meghalaya Youth Foundation conducted a “Clothes Distribution Programme” at Mawber Village, East Khasi Hills District on recently.
Nearly 220 people of the village received clothes that were distributed to them in the presence of Chairman of MYF Joannes Lamare, Sordar of Mawpyrshong Village Hamdren Lawai, Sordar of Mawber Village Distar Lawai and members of the MYF besides others.
