New York: Actor Alec Baldwin has let go of his plans to run for New York City mayor because he isn’t as eager for the role compared to the other candidates.
During his weekly radio show in New York on Wednesday, the ’30 Rock’ star, who once admitted keen interest in being mayor, confessed he’s lost his “appetite” for politics, reported USA.
“I’ve lost my appetite,” he said, adding that the other candidates are more eager to replace Mayor Michael Bloomberg in 2013. “Whereas for me, I’ve got a job now… I’ve got a good job,” he added.
Baldwin didn’t say whether being ejected from an American Airlines flight this month because he refused to turn off his phone for takeoff had anything to do with his loss of appetite.
The 53-year-old actor also hinted he may not quit ’30 Rock’ when his contract runs out after this series. “Give this up for what? I give up money and fame and position and success; I give up this wonderful life I have now in exchange for the chance to ‘really change things?’ Yeah, I’m not quite sure you can anymore.” (PTI)
