241 killed in Thailand during New Year holidays

Bangkok: A total of 241 people have been killed and 2,382 injured in the first four days of New Year holiday week in Thailand, said the country’s Road Safety Centre.

Some 2,167 road accidents took place in four days (Dec 29, 2011 to Jan 1, 2012). Last year, 2,473 accidents were recorded during the same period of the year, Xinhua quoted Thailand’s Road Safety Centre as stating. (IANS)
