Arunachal CM asks people to preserve rich culture of state

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki has pressed for preservation of the state’s rich culture and traditions by swaying away from the influence of modernity.

“Do not let the winds of the changing times and modernity dilute your rich culture and traditions,” Tuki said while gracing the Nyetchi-Dow festival celebration of the Hrussos (Aka) at Palizi in West Kameng district on Sunday, official sources said on Monday.

Every effort should be made to preserve one’s culture and the need for documentation thereby assumes great significance, he added.

Dwelling on his government’s endeavours, the chief minister said that in order to bring Arunachal at par with other advanced states of the country, the need for industrialization and public private partnership (PPP) policy in offing would bring about a sea change and would be instrumental in the immediate development of the state in various sectors.

The administrative reforms initiated by his government would facilitate transparency and accountability and the E-governance would be a major tool for ensuring good governance, he said.

The flagship programmes of the UPA govt aims at all-round uplift of the people and hence the need and commitment for its proper implementation, he said likewise the PM’s package needs to be implemented in right earnest achieving the financial and physical targets.

Impressing on the need for work culture, Tuki said that the state government commits itself to reach out to the people at the grassroots and the elected representatives and officers likewise need to carry out their duties and responsibilities with a missionary zeal. (PTI)
