Itanagar: The Peoples’ Party of Arunachal (PPA) on Tuesday demanded that the state government should immediate decentralise powers to the Panchayat Raj system.
In a press release here the PPA alleged that during the election time the Congress makes false promises to the people and the people of state have been betrayed time and again by the national party.
One such false election manifesto and promise is delay in decentralisations of the power to the Panchayat Raj, the PPA observed, adding, “Without decentralisation of the power the existence of Panchayat Raj is a mockery of the institution in itself.”
The PPA reiterated over the reaction of Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on the PPAs demand for a White Paper on the reasons behind the dalay in decentralisations of the power to the Panchayat Raj. (UNI)
