Bhopal: A young Indian Police Service officer was crushed to death in the Morena district of Madhya Pradesh, police said Thursday.

Narendra Kumar, sub-divisional police officer of Bamor in Morena district, was trying to stop a tractor loaded with illegally-quarried stones Thursday afternoon.

“But instead of stopping, the driver ran over him. Kumar was rushed to hospital but died on the way,” DIG (Chambal), D.P. Gupta told IANS.

Kumar was a 2009 batch IPS officer and was on probation. His wife Madhurani Tewatia, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, is also posted in Madhya Pradesh but is presently on maternity leave in Delhi. (IANS)
