JHADC committees

JOWAI: The Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) on Wednesday decided to constitute two committees – the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) and the House Committee.

The PAC will examine the Report of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India and the Committee will be headed by Opposition member Moonlight Pariat along with three other members.

The House Committee with its main objective to examines the needs and required of MDC’s Hostel, District Hall, and members rooms such as furnitures and others basic needs, will be headed by JHADC Chairman Obil Kyndait and assisted by the Deputy Chairman and three others members.

Meanwhile, the House also discussed two JHADC Bills which were re-introduced after both were returned by the Governor. The Bills are the Constitution of the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (Amendment) Bill, 2012 and the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District (Member’s Pension) (Third Amendment) Bill, 2010.
