Garo musician passes away

TURA: Famous Garo singer-cum-composer Raphael Ch Marak who passed away in Tura on Wednesday has been laid to rest at the Roman Catholic cemetery near Bishop House. He was 66.

Late Raphael Marak has not only coposed several soul searching songs on the beauty of Garo Hills but also happened to be one of the ardent preservers of age old traditional musical instruments particularly the “Chigring”.

He also composed religious songs in Garo.
