Shillong: Security forces in Meghalaya have been put on alert especially in Meghalaya-Assam border ahead of ULFA’s raising day on April 7, top police officers said on Monday. The alert came in the wake of the report that a top leader of the anti-talk faction of ULFA Dristi Rajkhowa currently being holed up in between Goalpara district of Assam and East Garo Hills district of Meghalaya. “We are alert and continuing with our operation against militants inside Meghalaya while they (Assam police) are engaged in their territory irrespective of which group is celebrating what,” Director General of Police N Ramachandran said.
