The oldest monuments in the State

(L) This monument, believed to be one of the oldest monuments in the State, is situated at Mawlai Mawroh. It is widely believed to be one of the three monuments from which Mawlai derives its name. Elders of the locality say the name Mawlai came  from the three monuments (mots) located at three different localtions in Mawlai.

(M) The oldest post box in the State erected during the British era still stands firm at Pasteur Institute here at Lawmali. (R) A street light used during the British period is also being restored. (Photos by Iban Mawrie)
