Jamborette held

The state-level patrol leaders Jamborette, which got under way at the state headquarters of Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides on April 10, will culminate on Saturday. About 254 patrol leaders selected from different schools and colleges from the districts participated in the inaugural programme.

Auditorium

The Director of Arts and Culture has informed that the U Soso Tham auditorium will remain temporary closed to all public functions with effects from June 1 onwards due to major renovation works.

Cultural prog

To celebrate Poila Baishakh on 14th Apri1,2012 the members of Rilbong Sports & Cultural Club will organise a cultural programme on the Club premises at 6.30 pm.

Forum formed

A new organization Mawlai People’s Forum (MPF) was formed on April 11 with an aim to promote welfare of the people of Mawlai and monitor and evaluate the functioning of the public representative, especially in regards to various developmental programmes undertaking from time to time. The jurisdiction and area of operation shall be within the Mawlai constituency. Bahunstar Mylliemngap was elected as its president. Thomas Hardy Thangkhiew and Samuel Biam were named as vice-president and Moris Lyngdoh as general secretary.
