Teacher arrested for molestation of 10 students

Aizawl: A school teacher has been arrested by police for molesting ten of his students in Mizoram.

According to the police, a 51 year old man serving in a primary school in southern Mizoram was arrested on last Friday for the alleged molestation of 10 of his students.

The name of the accused has been concealed for some reaons, according to the police. The school teacher was arrested while he was attending a Church’s conference in Champhai .

The source then said that the matter came to light when a newly admitted school student reported to her parents that she was being molested by his teacher in the classroom. Promptly acting on this, her parents complaint the matter to the local leaders. After investigation by the local leaders it has been found out that the defamed teacher has been molesting school students for the last one year and in the process victimised about 10 students. The child’s parents lodged a complaint to Champhai Police Station whereby he was arrested. Sources added that out of the 10 victims, the youngest one is 8 years old girl while the senior most one is 11 years old. After medical check-up, it was found that none of the girls have injuries or problems in their private parts but parents of one child reported that there is an injury at their daughter’s private part.

According to the girls, the teacher used to molest them inside the toilet, inside in his car and classrooms. There are also students who know this thing but out of fear they did not report to their parents, said sources. (NNN)
